I thought I'd take another shot at a merpony so I'd have one for the fair. I decided to make this one reclining on a rock like she had just emerged from the sea for a sunbath. The rock is made from two pieces of slate stacked and glued together. Her right leg was repositioned so that it would hang off the rock. The fin, waves and jewelry are all made with Apoxie Sculpt, and the hair is a blend of Dolly Hair's Mulberry Crush and (I think) Forget-Me-Not.
The fin has been tricky to photograph because it is so curved. There really isn't an angle that doesn't cause it to look really foreshortened. But eh, she is as she is. |
